Join us for the Vancouver Island Migrants Convention 2025 — a powerful gathering for Filipinos navigating Canada’s shifting immigration landscape.

Saturday, September 20, 2025

9:30 AM – 4:30 PM

📍 Bayanihan Community Centre, 1709 Blanshard St., Victoria, BC

In collaboration with the UP Alumni Association in BC (UPAABC), Bayanihan Community Centre (BCHS), Victoria Filipino Canadian Association (VFCA), Victoria Filipino Canadian Caregivers Association (VFCCA), and UVic Philippine Community (UPC), this gathering—Tulay at Gabay—is part of a province-wide initiative to build solidarity and ensure Filipinos in BC have a stronger, united voice in shaping a better future.

Tulay at Gabay is a platform for dialogue, advocacy, and action – helping our community navigate shifting policies and explore pathways to stay and work in B.C. Your voice matters. Together, we can push for immigration policies that are fair, compassionate, and rooted in community care.

Standing Together for Filipinos Facing Uncertain Times

Across Canada, shifting immigration policies are creating uncertainty for many Filipino migrants—care workers, health workers, hospitality workers, construction workers, seasonal farm workers, retail/trades employees, international students and spouses, and others on temporary or open work permits.

At this event, we will:

  • Share stories and lived experiences

  • Learn about your rights, options, and resources

  • Explore pathways to stay and work in B.C.

  • Identify necessary support services and advocacy steps

  • Shape community-driven policy recommendations to present to decision-makers

  • Hospitality workers

  • Construction workers

  • Seasonal workers (e.g., farm workers)
